Ok. Let's see if those who do not get it can understand what I mean. Prepping and survivalism can be very politically biased. The reasons why the SHTF (s*it hits the fan) can and are based on how a society is run. Equally the idea of prepping, especially so during a recession, is a reflection on the thought process of people. The harder life seems to get the better we want to be prepared.
When I attempt to 'sell' the idea I describe it thus. I ask if the person has an insurance policy of some kind. be it a car, house or life type. The answer is almost always yes. You then say 'do you wish to crash the car, have the house burn down or have the person insured come to harm?' the reply is usually no.
So I suggest prepping, or whatever it is you wish to call it, is an insurance policy of sorts. I've no wish for a zombie to come battering away at my door or an atom bomb to blast a nearby city but I would like, if possible, to be ready.
That said... onwards
